Canton Bern + Jura + Solothurn - Switzerland

Date 06.06.2026
Location Canton Bern + Jura + Solothurn - Switzerland
Organizer Jet Lag: Switzerland

Join us on Saturday, June 6, 2026 for a Hide + Seek game across Bern and the surrounding cantons of Bern, Solothurn and Jura. The game uses the dense Swiss rail network, so expect quick connections, tactical station choices, and plenty of chances to move between urban, lakeside, and mountainous areas. These cantons in central Switzerland are especially well known for their picturesque cities and scenic landscapes. Famous examples are the Bernese alps, with places like Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and the Jungfraujoch, the Jura mountains, and the cities of Bern, Solothurn, Interlaken and Thun.

Getting There

  • Meeting point: We will meet at Bern Hauptbahnhof (Bern station), the city’s main station and the best-connected point for local and long-distance arrivals.
  • Flights: Bern airport (BRN) is about 10 minutes from the city center by train. Both Zürich Airport (ZRH) and EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg (BSL) are within 90 min by train, with especially the latter being a great budget option.
  • Trains: Bern station has direct international and intercity connections, including ICE, TGV, Railjet, and frequent Swiss long-distance trains. It is also well connected to the transit hubs of Zurich and Basel.
  • Transit tickets: The game runs on the swiss rail network. Depending on when you arrive, your age and how long you stay, consider a Swiss day pass, Savers day pass, Friends Day Pass for Youth (only under 25 years), Interrail/Eurail or other options.

About Bern

The cantons of Bern, Solothurn and Jura are compact, walkable, and very transit-heavy, which makes it a strong setting for Hide + Seek. The cantons mix dense central stations with quieter suburbs, lakefront routes, elevated viewpoints, and scenic mountains so both seekers and hiders should have interesting strategic options.

You do not need to rely on bottled water during the day: Switzerland has many public fountains with clean drinking water. Bring a bottle, comfortable shoes, and enough phone battery (and optimally a power bank) for navigation, communication, and checking connections.
