H+S Brno
Brno - Czechia

Join us on Saturday, May 30, 2026 for a Hide + Seek game around Brno, the Czech Republic’s second city. With a dense, well-connected bus and tram network, expect a wide variety of options for hiding, from the center to outlying districts.
Getting There
- Meeting point: We will meet at Česká stop, a major tram interchange just north of the old town. Česká is easily reachable from the main train station, within minutes via tram, or 10-15 minutes’ walk through the old town.
- Flights: Brno airport (BRQ) is small and has limited flights, with several connections per week from London, Milan and Malaga via RyanAir. However, it is also easily reachable from Vienna (VIE), Prague (PRG), and Bratislava (BTS) airports - there are direct buses to Brno from Vienna airport (~2:15), see below for connections from other cities.
- Trains: Brno sits at or near the intersection of several major rail lines; it is easily reachable from Vienna and Bratislava (1:45 each), Prague (2:30), or Budapest (~4:00).
- Transit tickets: The playing area corresponds to DPMB zones 100 + 101, the basic ticket type - a 24-hour pass can be bought from kiosks at some stations for 90 Kč (approx. 4 EUR), with a few accepting cards, and all buses and trams are equipped with tap-to-pay card terminals as well, which cap charges at the same amount.
Game Info & Map
- Format: Standard Hide + Seek rules with a medium metric setup.
- Playable area: The map covers bus, tram and train stations within DPMB zones 100 + 101, which are served by at least 4 departures an hour during the entire game day (approx. 7:30 AM - 7:30 PM). Note: due to the density of stops, not all stops in play are the center of their respective hiding zones, and some have been removed to reduce overlap - check the interactive map below for the single source of truth for exact bounds of hiding zones.
- Hiding radius: 400 m around the chosen station.
- Paper map: A paper map will also be provided to each player! You can take a look here.
- Interactive map of hiding zones: Check out the embedded map below, or open the full version here.
About Brno
Brno is a medium-sized city of about 300k, with comprehensive, frequent transit connections via 12 tram lines, numerous bus lines, and commuter rail lines (only one of which is in play due to frequency). Outside of the dense, walkable historic old town, a variety of settings from housing estates and quieter suburbs to scenic natural areas are quickly accessible, giving hiders a number of options for picking spots.
Apart from the standard H&S packing list (water, power bank, comfortable clothing and shoes), it is recommended to download the iDOS application on your phone - this is the comprehensive transit planner app used for both local and long-distance connections across the Czech Republic and beyond, and gives information on connections, timetables, and live-updates on any transit delays. You can download it here for Android or iOS.
With the use of a paper map, players might also find it handy to bring pencils, rulers, compasses, and any other drawing tools to help eliminate zones.
If you have some time to stay outside of the game, there is much to see in and around Brno - the city contains sights such as the Saints Peter and Paul Cathedral, Špilberk castle, Saint Jacob’s Ossuary, the water reservoirs under Žlutý Kopec, and Villa Tugendhat, an iconic symbol of modernist architecture, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site (the interior of which is not accessible without a tour, which tend to be booked months in advance, but the gardens and basement of which can be visited via the neighboring Villa Löw-Beer for a small entry fee). Outside of the city, there are additional sights in the area, such as the Veveří Castle (accessible via bus, or by ferry across the Brno dam), the Moravian Karst natural area (in particular Punkva cave and Macocha abyss), the Pálava wine region south of Brno, and Lednice Chateau, another UNESCO World Heritage site.
